James first became involved with Cure Leukaemia in 2015 when he cycled the full Tour de France alongside Geoff Thomas. James who has no personal link to blood cancer, saw the importance of the charity’s work and has been involved ever since. James was instrumental in securing the long-term support from the Syncona Foundation which has brought over £500,000 to Cure Leukaemia. He also took part in the 3 Tours Challenge in 2017 and ‘The Tour 21’ in 2021 and is an integral member of the #CLFamily.
