Jeff, 73, from Canada, and his brother Barry, 76, from the British Virgin Islands, are taking on the Paris Marathon this April to support their close friend Sam, who is currently battling blood cancer. From the start, they set an ambitious fundraising goal far beyond the £750 charity minimum, aiming to raise £20,000. So far, they have already surpassed £15,000 and are determined to keep going. Their incredible efforts currently make them the highest fundraisers in the event.

They are part of a team of 200 runners collectively working to raise £200,000 for blood cancer research. Every donation helps drive critical global clinical trials and life-saving treatments, offering hope to patients like Sam and many others.
Initially, Barry had an opportunity to run the London Marathon, but with only one available spot, the brothers sought an alternative that would allow them to take on the challenge together. That’s when they found the Paris Marathon. Despite admitting they are “not remotely in shape to run or walk a marathon,” the idea took hold, and they embraced it wholeheartedly.

For Jeff, the ultimate goal is simple: “to survive and still be upright at the finish line.” Their journey is a powerful testament to friendship, determination, and the impact of collective action.

To support Jeff and Barry in their marathon mission, donations can be made to their fundraising campaign, helping to push their total even closer to their £20,000 goal.
