Over 40,000 people took to the streets of London over the weekend as part of the 2022 TCS London Marathon, and none shone brighter than our biggest ever team of #TeamCL runners on the day.

On a bright sunny day, our nine-strong team of amateur runners set off from Greenwich as they worked their way across the capital with eyes on finishing on The Mall later that day.

The streets were lined along the entire 26.2 mile course to keep our runners motivated with a carnival-like atmosphere on the day.

The team have raised an incredible £28,000 for the charity so far, with the £30,000 barrier becoming ever closer.

Each runner had their own unique reasons for running the London Marathon with Cure Leukaemia close to the hearts of all of them.

We would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them for their amazing achievements on the day.

Matt Greenaway, who completed the course in 3hrs 49mins, loved the whole experience of the day: “The whole marathon experience was amazing!”

“The weather, the atmosphere and knowing what an important cause I was running for dragged me through the last few tough miles. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s sponsored me, and couldn’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for the ultimate challenge.” 

Matt Shilvock was equally impressed with the number of supporters lining the streets of the capital: “It was a fantastic day in London on Sunday for the marathon representing Cure Leukaemia.”

“The atmosphere from start to finish was amazing, spectators came out in their dozens to make the day extra special. Above all we raised loads of money for a fantastic charity.”
