In an inspiring display of global solidarity, the Cure Leukaemia Paris Marathon team has hit the £100,000 fundraising milestone! This significant achievement will fund two specialist Research Nurses as part of the TAP Network, enhancing treatment and care for patients battling blood cancer.

With over 50% of those running having a direct connection to blood cancer, the team is made up of individuals with powerful stories and inspiration, coming together to make a difference to blood cancer patients by taking on the Paris Marathon next month.

With just over two weeks remaining until the marathon, the team remains steadfast in their ambition to double this amount, aiming for a total of £200,000. These dedicated runners, hailing from 22 countries, exemplify international unity in the fight against blood cancer.

Abi Sutcliffe, Research Nurse in Nottingham and part of the 2024 Paris Marathon team expressed gratitude for the team’s efforts: “Surpassing the £100,000 mark is a testament to the dedication of our Paris Marathon team. The funds raised will directly support our ongoing research initiatives to provide better outcomes for blood cancer patients. We encourage everyone to rally behind these runners as they strive to reach their £200,000 goal.”

All funds raised means we can help the prospects of blood cancer patients by funding more nurses and running more clinical trials through the Trials Acceleration Programme.
