Cure Leukaemia is thrilled to announce that renowned football legends Marlon Harewood, Darren Ambrose, Jamie O’Hara, Jeremie Aliadiere, Jermaine Pennant, and Sue Smith will be joining the upcoming Copa Del CL event at St George’s park this October! The ex-professionals will take to the pitch alongside participating teams in an exciting six-a-side football tournament, all in the name of raising vital funds for the fight against blood cancer.
Set against the iconic backdrop of St George’s Park, the home of England’s national football teams, Copa Del CL will be an action-packed day of football, bringing together players of all abilities and backgrounds. Teams will have the unique opportunity to play alongside some of football’s biggest names, making this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for participants and spectators alike, co-hosted by TalkSport’s Natalie Sawyer and Sky Sports’ Johnny Phillips.
The day doesn’t end with the final whistle. Following the tournament, participants will enjoy an elegant evening gala dinner, featuring a special guest speaker who will share inspiring stories of hope and resilience. The evening promises to be a fitting celebration of the day’s efforts, with the football community coming together to support a crucial cause.
Funds raised from Copa Del CL will directly support Cure Leukaemia’s mission by funding specialist Research Nurses across the UK. These nurses play a critical role in the development and delivery of life-saving treatments for blood cancer patients, and their work is essential in the ongoing battle to eradicate the disease.
Cure Leukaemia Chief Executive James McLaughlin added “We are incredibly excited to welcome Marlon, Darren, Jamie, Jeremie, Jermaine, and Sue to Copa Del CL. Their involvement will undoubtedly raise the profile of this event and help us continue our vital work in funding Research Nurses that can save lives.”
There are still four spaces left for teams eager to take part in this unique event, from £3,000 for a squad of 10. Teams interested in joining the fight against blood cancer and securing their spot at Copa Del CL can find more information and sign up by visiting https://copadelcl.co.uk/.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to play alongside football legends and support a cause that truly makes a difference.
