Worcestershire-based Adam Hewitt Ltd set fireworks flying recently by raising over £30,000 for Cure Leukaemia.

The Agricultural Vehicle Auctioneer held a dedicated online auction featuring farm-yard tools and vehicles which helped raise £11,000 and followed this up with a further £22,000 from a firework and bonfire display in Kidderminster.

It is the second year that Adam has hosted the incredible firework display alongside a raffle and memorabilia auction featuring a great array of prizes including signed football and rugby shirts, hampers, bottles of champagne and a VIP tour around the Bentley factory.

Adam was thrilled with the final amount raised and easily surpassed their initial target from the two initiatives:

“The target we had in mind prior to the two events was £20,000 so we are over the moon that we managed a significant amount more – the challenge now is to try and beat it next year so fingers crossed and watch this space!”

Haematologist Dr Salim Shafeek of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals was thrilled with the amount raised this month. “We will always be immensely grateful for the generosity of Adam, and the two initiatives this year have raised a substantial amount of money for Cure Leukaemia and the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals. The money raised will provide huge benefits for patients undergoing treatment for blood cancer across the county. Continued funding of our programmes allow clinical trials to take place which ultimately give patients a greater chance of survival”
