FootieBugs’ second Annual Charity Golf Day took place at the prestigious Edgbaston Golf Club Birmingham, in support of Cure Leukaemia on April 16th.
On a beautiful spring day, the sun shone on what was a great days golf as well as an evening of entertainment!
The golf day was attended by footballing stars present and past such as Stoke City and England International Peter Crouch, Aston Villa star Ashley Westwood, former Aston Villa and England International Darius Vassell and West Bromwich Albion stars Liam Ridgewell and James Morrison to name a few!
Following 18 holes of golf, all those attending made their way in to Edgbaston Club house for a delicious evening meal, followed by a highly enjoyable awards celebration where, as Lee said, “you find out who plays when they should be working and who works when they should be playing!” Comedian Jed Stone then took to the stage for the evenings entertainment before hosting the raffle and auction which raised almost £2,000 for Cure Leukaemia!
Lee Hendrie and FootieBugs got involved with Cure Leukaemia at the beginning of 2014 in preperation for the Club Legends Cup at the LG Arena on Saturday July 12th. The Club Legends Cup is a once in the lifetime opportunity to see some of the biggest footballing names from across the Midlands in action, and for some lucky fans - the opportunity to play alongside them. FootieBugs will start the event with the Little Legends Cup, a chance to see future stars in action competing in a mini kids tournament on the pitch at the LG Arena, whilst Lee will captain the Aston Villa side for the showpiece evening event.
