On Thursday 26th September 2019 famous faces, Cure Leukaemia staff, CL nurses and our fantastic patients and volunteers once again visited Deutsche Bank's offices in Birmingham and London to encourage the bank's UK staff to donate their day's salary to the organisation's two Charities of the Year, Cure Leukaemia and Rays of Sunshine.
It was another fantastic occasion with celebrity chef Rustie Lee in Birmingham, multiple Ashes winning cricketers Matt Prior and Jonathan Trott in London alongside the official ICC Cricket World Cup, former footballers Joe Cole, Gilberto Silva and Sir Trevor Brooking and fresh from completing London 2 Paris for CL, England U-21 Manager Aidy Boothroyd and our Patron Geoff Thomas all doing their bit to drive donations.
Former patients Mark Nicholas, Sarah Campling and Jaymz Goodman all took part with CL Champion Jane Young and Cure Leukaemia nurses Donna Walsh and Tina McSkeane. We were also very lucky to have the support of Andy Wilkinson, Shari Bryan and Claire Fisher from OWB Creative.
We are also hugely grateful to all of the Deutsche Bank staff across the offices who gave their time to look after our fundraising teams throughout the day.
Last year, this one day of fundraising within the bank raised a staggering £1.2m for the two charities and in a few weeks we will learn the figure from 2019 which promises to be another transformational figure to help patients across the UK access potentially life-saving treatments for blood cancer. Thank you to everyone involved.
For Deutsche Bank staff who were not in the office on the day you can still donate your day's salary which is donated, pre tax and then doubled by the bank meaning the charities recieve almost triple you donation! To make your donation click HERE.
