Season's Greetings from the Cure Leukaemia Team
As an extraordinary year draws to a close, Jackie, Joe, Jennie, Bobby and myself would like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
2017 will go down as the most transformational year in Cure Leukaemia's history and all of you have played a part in the charity's success. The £1m Appeal to fund the expansion of the Centre for Clinical Haematology clearly resonated with many supporters who proceeded to go the extra mile to raise funds 11 years after the Centre first opened in 2006. We took on the challenge of raising this additional £1m and we're delighted to announce that we have been able to raise this fantastic figure.
Alongside the Appeal we were delighted to have secured the national support of Deutsche Bank for the next two years. This partnership is worth a minimum of £2m and will dramatically accelerate the pioneering and lifesaving work of Professor Charlie Craddock CBE and our network of specialist research nurses. This level of support will ensure thousands more blood cancer patients across the country will have access to the latest treatments for this cruel disease. More lives will be saved and progress towards eradicating all forms of blood cancer within 25 years will be hastened.
There have been so many remarkable achievements from this year that it would simply be impossible to name them all but many were honoured at our #CLChampions Awards last week, more of which you can read about below.
On behalf of everyone associated with this great charity, thank you. Never has the #CLFamily been stronger and we look forward to another exciting and no doubt transformational 2018.
