The football season may be over but there is plenty to look forward to for all who love the beautiful game this summer!
There is, of course, the FIFA World Cup in Brazil but if you are keen to have your football fix ahead of the new season there is an event much closer to home. The inaugural Club Legends Cup indoor football tournament takes place at the LG Arena on Saturday July 12th in support of Cure Leukaemia and excitement is growing ahead of the big day!
Former Legends of yesteryear from Aston Villa, Walsall, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers will be locking horns once again the day before the World Cup Final.
Tickets are selling fast for the event so don't delay in snapping yours up priced at £10 for adults and £2 for under-16s (booking fees apply) but there's even less time to have your chance to play with the likes of Matt Murray, Lee Hendrie, Stephen Pressley, Darren Moore, Jorge Leitao and Darren Purse on the day itself!
The auctions are open until midnight on Saturday May 31st so don't delay placing your bid by clicking here for a chance to show off your skills in a packed LG Arena amongst the players you used to cheer on from the stands. With all funds raised from the Club Legends Cup going to blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia you'll know your money will directly help save the lives of leukaemia patients all around the region. That's not all, you will have an exclusive package on the day itself to make your experience all the more memorable, click here to find out more.
It will be an amazing occasion for the whole family with the FootieBugs Little Legends Cup kicking off the day at 3pm as 60 lucky kids from all around the Midlands have their chance to shine. A one-off Ladies Legends match showcasing women's football will follow before the Club Legends Cup gets underway. A host of family activities will be available all around the LG Arena as well making it the perfect summer outing for the family.
Football, and particularly Midlands football, has sadly been closely linked with leukaemia in recent years with former Wolves and England midfielder and Patron of Cure Leukaemia Geoff Thomas and former Aston Villa Captain and Bulgarian international Stiliyan Petrov contracting the disease. Thanks to Cure Leukaemia's co-founder Professor Charlie Craddock and his amazing clinical team both men are thankfully in remission and Stiliyan has expressed his desire to pull on the Claret and Blue jersey once again on July 12th.
It really is an event too good to miss so please do join us at the LG Arena on July 12th for fun, nostalgia and, most importantly, fundraising for a magnificent charity. Place your bid to play here or to buy your tickets call 0844 338 8000 or click here to purchase online.
